My Position On The Team
Physical Therapist, DPT, ATC, TPI
What I Do Here at Back In Motion
It is my mission to help each and every patient as a whole and not as a condition or injury. I look at the human body as a functional unit I which all parts must be functional for efficient performance. My passion is to create an individual plan that creates a positive experience for all patients in recovery. I use skilled manual techniques, Graston instruments, modalities or electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cold lasers for pain control. I look at functional movement patterns and muscle imbalances to incorporate the muscular skeletal system as well as the neurological system for balancing muscle tone with reactive responses.
A Little About Me
I have an amazing wife and we are new home owners in the area, so that keeps me busy outside of the clinic. Outside of work I also really enjoy spending time with family, having cookouts, and being active in exercise/sports. My sports of interest include soccer, basketball, golf, and lacrosse. I love spending time at the beach swimming, snorkeling, and fishing. I enjoy being handy in my garage with wood work and “Honey Do Lists.”
Words to Live by
“Life is too short and it goes by too fast not to enjoy it to the fullest.” If you are in pain, nervous about falling, or want to improve a skill set in athletics, I can help with these goals to live the full life you deserve.
What I Like Most About Working Here
Back in Motion has a well rounded staff that gives the patient the best opportunity to succeed. We have Doctors in Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistants, a Nutritionist, and Massage Therapists. We have a well respected reputation in the community with many health care providers that creates a well rounded, team approach to patient care.
What I Enjoy Most About Caring for Patients
As a Physical Therapist I get to really know each patient. We get to spend a lot of one-on-one time during treatments to understand each patient’s history, present life events, and future plans. It is heart warming to see my patients grow in their recovery an feel that their life has been changed in a positive manner to enjoy all that life has to offer.
Why I Chose to Become a Physical Therapist
I have always been involved in the sporting world growing up and challenging myself to be the best athlete I could. This came with certain injuries and set backs that I had to overcome to continue my athletic dreams. With these injuries I became a Certified Athletic Trainer to spend my working hours helping sports teams with on-field injuries, recovery, and injury prevention. After seeing that my athletes were not getting injured very often, my kill sets were being underused. This led me to become a DPT so I could spend my whole work day treating and caring for those who are injured and in need of the care I could provide.
What My Patients Say About Me
My patients appreciate that I have a very well rounded background that encompasses many skill sets into my treatments. I have had the privilege to work at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, be involved with the USA National Lacrosse Team, contracted with the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens NFL organization, and numerous college athletic programs. I am an open listener and create my goals for the patient based on the goals of the patient, since it is heir life we want to improve.
What My Patients Say About Our Clinic
Our patients love the one-on-one treatment experience they receive here at Back in Motion. You will not be passed on to complete the therapy on your own, or have to share your appointment time with another patient, and that is what we pride ourselves on. We have staff with varied backgrounds, education, and life experiences that makes us a well-rounded team for the patient’s recovery.
